This role involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. The position requires delivering friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find products, ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience, and completing operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards. Responsibilities include engaging with clients of all ages, demonstrating and instructing craft projects, performing face painting, facilitating party add-ons, communicating with clients and store team members, and handling administrative tasks like emails, phone calls, and paperwork. The host must also adjust plans based on client feedback, create backup plans, ensure client satisfaction, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards by setting up, breaking down, and cleaning before and after each event. Additionally, the role supports Omni channel processes (Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store), participates in truck unloading, stocking, planogram processes, merchandise recovery, Store in Stock Optimization (SISO), AD set duties, and supports shrink and safety programs. Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies is essential, along with interacting respectfully with others. Cross-training in Custom Framing selling and production, and participating in daily store cleanliness activities are also part of the job.
