About The Position

This Keyholder Supervisor position involves supervising store operations including loading and unloading trailers, processing textiles and wares, quality control, rotation, sales, and general operations. The role assists the store manager with managing budgeted sales and expense to revenue (E/R), accurately operates cash registers, handles banking procedures, and trains and supervises store employees in retail procedures. Key responsibilities also include displaying excellent customer service, ensuring the store is maintained according to company policies on housekeeping, safety, and security, and performing stocking, display, and inventory duties. The supervisor will also perform merchandise ordering as assigned, including processing transportation requests. The role requires a flexible schedule to meet store needs, adherence to the Goodwill dress code, and setting a professional example. The individual is expected to embrace an empowerment and continuous improvement culture, offering suggestions and making decisions that positively impact the store and business growth. Additionally, the position assists the store manager with equal opportunity employment efforts, takes action to prevent employee harassment, requires providing own transportation with adequate liability insurance, and maintaining the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Compliance with all Agency policies, procedures, and safety standards is essential, ensuring safety training and maintenance to meet CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Knowledge and experience in cash register procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in stock control.
  • Knowledge and experience in banking procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in merchandising and display.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to pass random drug screens.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees in cashiering, banking, stock, and display.
  • Ability to effectively perform the duties of opening and closing the store as needed.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work as a team member.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist store manager with managing budgeted sales and expense to revenue (E/R).
  • Operate cash register accurately and efficiently, including proper handling of cash, checks, correct change, receipts, returns, voids, discounts, and credit cards.
  • Perform banking procedures, including reconciliation of Daily Business Statements and deposit slips.
  • Train and supervise store employees in retail procedures.
  • Display and model excellent customer service.
  • Ensure store is maintained in accordance with company policies on housekeeping, safety, and security.
  • Perform stocking, display, and inventory duties.
  • Perform merchandise ordering as assigned, including processing requests to transportation.
  • Work a flexible schedule to comply with the needs of the store.

  • Directly supervise employees and volunteers in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; opening and closing of store; and daily manager on duty tasks in the absence of the store manager or assistant manager.
