The Key Account Manager, Convenience, will be responsible for key retailers and wholesalers in the Convenience channel. This individual will oversee existing retail partnerships and lead business development initiatives in the channel. The Key Account Manager will collaborate closely with other KAMs, Shopper Marketing, Category Management, and our field sales team that manages DSD partners. This is a retailer-facing role that focuses on account ownership, maximizing performance, achieving sales targets, and expanding our portfolio.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience, ideally in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) and/or beverages with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, proven strategic account management and business development skills.
  • Proven history of exceeding sales quotas and growing distribution, velocity within the CPG industry.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 40-50%, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • This role is safety-sensitive. This means that as part of your core responsibilities, you will be regularly responsible for your own safety and/or the safety of others (e.g., driving on behalf of the company, or working in a warehouse/plant environment).

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience calling on key national Convenience retailers (7-Eleven, Circle K, Wawa, Casey’s, Maverick).

Responsibilities

  • Drive key retailer business, in order to meet the set objectives, annual volume, and profitability targets, while impacting the overall business plans and strategies for the Company.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans (annual, quarterly, monthly), including forecasting, promotional calendars, budgeting, pricing, distribution and merchandising to expand innovation and grow the business.
  • Align strategies with the Director/Vice President responsible for the territory.
  • Lead the daily performance management for assigned retailers and wholesalers, driving maximum execution and achievement of goals.
  • Partner with Shopper Marketing, Field Sales, Brand, Supply Chain and Finance.
  • Provide leadership in creating effective sales programs, including brand strategy for optimal success and execution
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volumes of targeted distribution channels and creating avenues to increase volume via ACV analysis, syndicated data analysis, promotional efficiency, and service levels.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends on pricing, products, delivery schedules, techniques, etc., making recommendations where necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to all key account customers to include new items, promo strategies, brand/category recommendations, and category/brand market trends via syndicated data.
  • Partner with Shopper Marketing, Field Sales, Brand, Supply Chain and Finance.
  • Provide leadership in creating effective sales programs, including brand strategy for optimal success and execution.
  • In conjunction with sales leadership, develop annual budgets, monitoring throughout the year for opportunities for greater efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
