Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous animal care experience preferred (boarding, shelter, vet clinic, kennel)
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working around dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning protocols
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
  • Compassionate and patient with animals
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
  • Calm under pressure
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout shift
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, animal dander, and noise
  • Ability to handle large or energetic animals safely

Responsibilities

  • Walk dogs and provide safe, supervised exercise
  • Clean litter boxes and ensure proper bedding setup
  • Cleaning kennel cages/ runs at the end of the hospital day. Prepping these cages for the next business day.
  • Monitor patients for signs of distress or medical concerns and report immediately to Lead Technicians
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, treatment areas, and hospital floors
  • Remove all trash and biohazard waste according to hospital protocols
  • Launder and restock all towels and bedding, including surgical towels for the hospital
  • Maintain cleanliness outside of animal hospital removing all fecal material including the outdoor kennel area on the premises.
  • Ensure all kennel doors are secured and locked for the even.
  • Double-check locks, kennel latches, and treatment area organization
  • Restock any supplies for the next business day
  • Complete end-of-shift checklist located in the kennel
