Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for boarding, hospitalized, and surgical animals
  • Feed and provide fresh water according to specific dietary instructions
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, cages, runs, and treatment areas
  • Monitor animals for signs of illness, injury, stress, or behavioral changes and report concerns to veterinary staff
  • Exercise dogs and provide basic enrichment activities
  • Bathe, brush, and perform basic grooming tasks as needed
  • Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians during examinations and procedures when required
  • Safely restrain animals for treatments or transport
  • Administer medications as directed by veterinarians or licensed technicians
  • Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and animal condition
  • Launder bedding, towels, and clinic linens
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and maintain sanitation standards
  • Stock and organize supplies in kennel and treatment areas
  • Provide compassionate handling and comfort to animals during their stay
  • Communicate with team members regarding animal care updates
