About The Position

The KC‑46 Remote Vision System (RVS) 2.0 is the next major upgrade to the KC‑46 Pegasus aerial refueling platform. As the largest development program within Collins Aerospace Avionics, RVS 2.0 delivers an advanced 3D vision system that improves mission accuracy, situational awareness, and operator performance for the United States Air Force and our NATO partners. We are looking for a Systems Engineer II to join the KC‑46 Platform Systems team within Advanced Tanker, Military Avionics, and Avionics Engineering. In this role, you’ll support a wide range of activities across the systems development life cycle, including requirements support, system integration, verification, and subsystem analysis. You’ll work as part of a collaborative, cross‑functional engineering team responsible for bringing RVS 2.0 capabilities to life. This system provides KC‑46 Boom Operators with a highly immersive 3D virtual environment, enabling a clearer, more accurate view of every mission. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to grow their systems engineering expertise while contributing to a high‑visibility program that directly supports the warfighter.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience in systems engineering or relevant field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with safety critical system & software development (such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A).
  • Knowledge in the areas of baseline control, earned value, risk management and product support.
  • Ability to mentor other systems engineers and beginning project engineers.
  • Agile or Scrum development methods.
  • Candidates should be adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support with the technical design and development of the system
  • Bid support for future KC-46 pursuits
  • Applicants will perform system development in all life-cycle phases
  • Candidates will be expected to independently perform multiple tasks and be able to work with a variety of development and test tools.
  • 25% travel or less.
