The KC‑46 Remote Vision System (RVS) 2.0 is the next evolution of the KC‑46 Pegasus refueling capability. As the largest development program within Collins Aerospace Avionics, RVS 2.0 delivers a transformational 3D vision system that enhances mission accuracy, situational awareness, and operator effectiveness for the United States Air Force and our NATO partners. We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the KC‑46 Platform Systems team within Advanced Tanker, Military Avionics, and Avionics Engineering. In this role, you will contribute across the full systems development life cycle- helping define, integrate, and verify critical capabilities within RVS 2.0. As part of a collaborative, cross‑functional engineering team, you will support system integration, verification, and subsystem-level performance for a cutting‑edge virtual environment that provides KC‑46 Boom Operators with an immersive, real‑time view of the mission. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in systems engineering or relevant field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with safety critical system & software development (such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A).
  • Knowledge in the areas of baseline control, earned value, risk management and product support.
  • Ability to mentor other systems engineers and beginning project engineers.
  • Agile or Scrum development methods.
  • Candidates should be adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support/lead of the technical design and development of other systems engineers
  • Support of bid and proposals of future KC-46 pursuits
  • Applicants will perform system development in all life-cycle phases
  • Candidates will be expected to independently perform multiple tasks and be able to work with a variety of development and test tools.
  • Up to 25% travel as needed.
