This role provides a variety of clerical support duties, including opening, tracking, processing, and closing case files. Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical/administrative experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in a law office, court, criminal justice, or indigent defense setting
  • Experience working with court or legal records

Responsibilities

  • Uses a computer to access and update case management systems (JuNe)
  • Answers inquiries and assists internal and external customers with electronic or physical case files or records requests, either in person or by telephone
  • Sorts or classifies information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order
  • Pulls files upon request
  • Prepares files/documents for scanning, then scans and indexes documents
  • Obtains information from courts and staff to update case files, court calendars, and case management systems
  • Transports and destroys (shreds) case files
  • Boxes and marks files for long-term storage
