About The Position

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Junior Windows Systems Architect to support the IT program at a major national laboratory. Responsibilities Establish system information requirements and design architecture to support enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems. Ensure compliance with standards for open systems architectures and applicable reference models. Evaluate workflows, organization, and planning to develop corrective actions. Develop solutions to problems of varying complexity and provide recommendations for system improvements. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure systems meet present and future cross-functional requirements. Contribute to the development of new principles, concepts, and practices to address strategic issues or significant problems. Provide analysis of information and trends at a corporate level and serve as a resource for executive management. Requirements

  • BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 3 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Uncleared, but must have the ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Windows system administration experience at least 1-3 years
  • Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies
  • Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers and vendors
  • Automation platforms such as Ansible, VmWare, Python at least 1-3 years
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Linux Server System Administration experience at least 1-3 years
  • Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions
  • RHCE/CCNA
  • Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating SysAdmin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes
  • Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.
  • Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience
  • ESXI experience
