About The Position

Overview Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products. May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation. Background The Federal Protective Service (FPS) operates a 24x7x365 national operations center , known as the Federal Protective Service Operations Center (FPSOC) or “The Watch,” which serves as the central hub for situational awareness, information coordination, and operational reporting across FPS. FPS relies on contractor support to assist with watch desk operations, incident monitoring, information synthesis, and briefing production , ensuring timely, accurate information sharing in support of operational and leadership decision-making. Contractor personnel also support virtual Emergency Operations Center (vEOC) activities, Incident Management Team (IMT) deployments , and the maintenance of a Common Operating Picture (COP) to enable coordinated response across FPS and partner organizations. Responsibilities This position must be covered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. A junior labor category is responsible for assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions.

Requirements

  • Up to 3 years of experience in operation centers, emergency management, dispatch, first responder (law enforcement/fire/ rescue) or related work.
  • Security Clearance: Candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain one. Clearance processing and entry on duty are subject to government approval, and candidates will not be permitted to begin work until all required security requirements are met.
  • Educational Requirements : Minimum requirement of a BA/BS.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains situational awareness of DHS related events, incidents, and threats.
  • Produces incident reports, reporting products, and briefs.
  • Maintains RFI database, tracks RFI’s, and ensures RFI’s are reviewed and approved.
  • Conducts limited analysis on data in the response to RFI’s.
  • Capable of producing limited GIS imagery to support reporting products.
  • Capable of maintaining the COP.
  • Ensures Blotter is received and reviewed.
  • Produces, reviews, distributes, and briefs operational reports
  • Maintains distribution lists.
  • Updates watch turnover/pass down report.
  • Accesses, navigates, and utilize DHS and FPS law enforcement data systems and networks (to secret clearance level)
