Requirements

  • Strong understanding of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP.
  • Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
  • Basic knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively investigate security events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting incidents and collaborating with team members.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and evolving security landscapes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in an IT or security-focused role.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows and MacOS.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience in cybersecurity is a strong plus.
  • Entry-level security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) system for suspicious activities and potential threats.
  • Conduct initial triage and investigation of security alerts, escalating critical issues to senior analysts.
  • Assist in performing regular vulnerability scans and coordinate with IT teams to apply necessary patches.
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation steps in the ticketing system.
  • Help maintain and update security policies, procedures, and response playbooks.
  • Participate in security awareness training initiatives for company employees.
  • Assist in completion of security questionnaires.
