Requirements

Strong understanding of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP.
Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
Basic knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively investigate security events.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting incidents and collaborating with team members.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and evolving security landscapes.
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
0 to 2 years of experience in an IT or security-focused role.
Familiarity with operating systems including Windows and MacOS.

Nice To Haves

Previous internship experience in cybersecurity is a strong plus.
Entry-level security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) system for suspicious activities and potential threats.
Conduct initial triage and investigation of security alerts, escalating critical issues to senior analysts.
Assist in performing regular vulnerability scans and coordinate with IT teams to apply necessary patches.
Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation steps in the ticketing system.
Help maintain and update security policies, procedures, and response playbooks.
Participate in security awareness training initiatives for company employees.
Assist in completion of security questionnaires.
