About The Position

The Junior Strategic Sales Specialist develops customers for the company and maintains and enhances existing customer relationships. The individual identifies customer problems and/or opportunities, deeply understands how PEI’s Family of products can be used to provide a solution and is persuasive in selling the solution to the customer. The Junior Strategic Sales Specialist utilizes the phone for the majority of his/her workday and is organized, disciplined, able to work at a quick pace, able to multi-task and self-sufficient in carrying out his/her job responsibilities. This individual delivers the budgeted sales for his/her assigned accounts and/or territory, if assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree from four-year college or university preferred; or minimum of 1-3 years sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced PC skills, as well as general knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required as well as acumen for computer applications and willingness to master internal computer system.
  • Proficiency in time management skills and ability to prioritize account coverage.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze a problem or potential problem and react quickly and effectively.
  • Display good communication skills, both written and verbal, within and outside the company.
  • Demonstrate good team and human relation skills, reliability and trustworthiness.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop assigned customers for the company in a defined geographic market or industry; utilizing fast reliable service, quote follow-up, and literature and line card mailings, etc.
  • Maintain and enhance existing customer relationships to increase the amount of business and the diversity of product that PEI-Genesis does with these customers by pursuing possibilities and opportunities beyond those initiated by the customer.
  • Monitor and maintain through consistent customer dialogue, that all price requirements, delivery requirements, quality requirements and special handling requirements requested by customer are met in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Coordinate large bids, quotes, orders or opportunities with the Strategic Inside Sales Manager and the Product Manager.
  • Participate in annual budgeting process, providing suggested customer or geographical sales dollar budget, GP dollar budget and GP percent budget.
  • Assist customers with technical information and requirements.
  • Sales order entry and confirming accuracy.
  • Expediting sales orders and proactively expediting from a backlog report.
  • Coordinate customer returns.
  • Back up teammates during busy periods and vacation times.
  • Other projects as assigned.
