What We Do This is a development position designed to prepare an individual possessing attributes supporting a sales dynamic to advance into a Sales Representative position. The primary function of this position is to gain industry, product and service knowledge while learning the various skills needed to be promoted to a Sales Representative. The Sales Trainee must understand how to use interpersonal skills to build long-term internal and external relationships. Upon completing the training period, this individual may be responsible for sales and margin performance within a defined territory.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in sales or customer service
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to influence and persuade others
  • Enthusiastic, optimistic, persistent and resilient personality; able to handle rejection
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to negotiate conflict

  • Solid work ethic, self-starter and high energy level

Responsibilities

  • Learn and master the sales process and understand the products and services offered.
  • Learn sales administration by participating in sales office functions
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients
  • Conduct market research and develop sales strategies; gather and analyze information to build knowledge base and identify trends for assigned territory/product
  • Observe the sales process by calling on accounts; adhere to established sales steps
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational improvement opportunities; read sales and marketing publications
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations
  • Other duties as assigned
