About The Position

Under the direction of the Plant Leadership, the Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, haul units, portable crushing and screening plants, and other earth moving equipment. The main objective of the Lube Technician is to perform all lubrication activities to prevent failures and optimize operating costs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED, or work experience required
  • 6 months heavy equipment experience preferred
  • Trade school or related mechanical/technical certification preferred
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English language
  • Knowledge of maintenance of heavy equipment/Caterpillar and Komatsu preferred

  • Work requires the ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
  • Work requires the ability to use vibration tools
  • Work requires the ability to perform work while lying on back for prolonged periods of time and in some cases cramped quarters
  • Work requires the ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
  • Work is performed 50% outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather and 50% indoors
  • Able to reason through difficult operations problems, resolve said problems and/or relate same to others

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months heavy equipment experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspects mechanical equipment to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues
  • Uses standard operating procedures to troubleshoot malfunctions of systems or components, and creates a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem
  • Under direct supervision, repairs mechanical equipment so that they remain at full functioning capacity
  • Tests systems with miscellaneous devices to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible
  • Reviews blueprints to understand the placement of mechanical equipment and machinery to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs
  • Participates in mechanical field projects as needed
  • In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs.
