About The Position

The Junior Inside Sales Representative supports U.S. Navy valve projects through a diverse group of prime contractors. Responsibilities start with the initial solicitation through delivery by providing inside sales support, contract review, and customer service. This role serves as a central hub for customer purchasing, engineering, operations, and quality teams. Specific functions include preparing quotations, reviewing contract terms, booking orders, administrative support of the sales team, coordinating internally to facilitate order fulfillment, and maintaining documentation throughout the sales cycle. This position is ideal for an early‑career professional who is detail‑oriented, eager to learn technical products, and comfortable working across multiple departments to ensure compliance, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong commitment to process adherence, documentation accuracy, and compliance.
  • Solid understanding of customer service principles and ability to resolve routine and moderately complex issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret basic contract language and identify inconsistencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills for customer and internal interactions.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 1–2 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, contract administration, or a technical support environment preferred.

  • Contract Review experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing concepts, engineering documentation, or industrial products is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Quotation & Inside Sales Support
  • Support sales team in reviewing customer RFQs and coordinating with engineering, planning, purchasing, operations, and quality to develop accurate quotations.
  • Communicate product selection support based on input from Application Engineering, considering contractual requirements, pricing, and availability.
  • Maintain proactive communication with customers throughout the quotation, order review, and acceptance process.
  • Contract Review & Compliance
  • Review customer purchase orders, contract terms, and specifications to ensure alignment with quotations, pricing, delivery commitments, and company policies.
  • Identify discrepancies or risks in contract language and escalate issues to management or legal resources as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Navy and internal documentation, quality, and reporting requirements.
  • Track contract changes, amendments, and customer communications to maintain accurate project records.
  • Customer Service & Project Coordination
  • Serve as a single point of contact for customer purchasing, engineering, operations, and quality departments.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding order status, documentation, technical information, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve issues related to order accuracy, technical requirements, or production constraints.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Document sales, contract, and customer service activities in CRM or other tracking systems.
  • Maintain organized records of quotations, contract reviews, order changes, and customer correspondence.
  • Support continuous improvement by recommending product or service enhancements based on customer feedback and engineering input.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, and process documentation.
  • Support cross‑functional initiatives and other tasks assigned by management.
