About The Position

The Junior HR Analyst plays a critical support role within the People team at PrimeSource Building Products, with a primary focus on HR and Payroll reporting, data accuracy, and process documentation. This entry-level role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who is eager to learn HRIS and payroll systems, develop reporting and data skills, and grow within Human Resources. This position reports directly to the Senior Payroll Manager and works closely with Payroll and HR partners to ensure accurate data, reliable reporting, and well-documented processes that support informed decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
  • Basic HRIS navigation experience (ADP, Workday, or similar systems)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
  • Ability to explain data findings with guidance and supervision
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Learner and Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Ability to collaborate and problem-solve
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Analytics, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or entry-level experience in HR, Payroll, Finance, or Data Analysis is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, validate, and maintain data from multiple HR and Payroll sources
  • Assist with data compilation for recurring and ad-hoc reports
  • Maintain data accuracy and resolve basic data quality issues
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and reporting within HRIS and Payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing data and documentation
  • Support compensation and benefits analysis projects
  • Assist with payroll-related functions and data validation
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for HRIS, payroll, and reporting processes
  • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with HR data policies
  • Work closely with the Payroll team under the direction of the Senior Payroll Manager
  • Provide analytical and reporting support to the People/HR team
  • Ensure data consistency and integrity across systems
  • Identify data gaps or quality issues and propose practical solutions
  • Support cross-functional initiatives requiring HR or payroll data
