About The Position

The Junior Taxable Fixed Income Sales/Trader supports the firm’s fixed income trading and sales activities, with a primary focus on the rates business and secondary support for credit and preferred stock trading groups. This role provides market support, assists in executing client transactions, maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and contributes to overall trading desk operations. The position is designed for an early-career professional with strong analytical skills, market interest, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced trading environment.

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge of fixed income markets, particularly rates products.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial/trading platforms preferred.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or related field required.
  • 0–3 years of relevant fixed income, capital markets, or trading experience preferred.
  • Recent college graduates with demonstrated interest in financial markets will be considered.
  • SIE, Series 7 and Series 63/66 or obtained within a specified timeframe.
  • Work Authorization Requirement: This position is not eligible for via sponsorship, including H-1B, CPT, OPT, or any other employment-based sponsorship. Candidates must have current and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily trading and sales activity within the rates business while assisting credit and preferred stock teams as needed.
  • Assist senior sales and trading professionals with trade execution, order management, and client servicing.
  • Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and fixed income performance to support trading decisions.
  • Provide timely and accurate pricing, market color, and trade information to internal teams and clients.
  • Maintain trading records and ensure accurate trade capture and reporting.
  • Assist in preparing market commentary, client presentations, and research materials.
  • Collaborate with operations, compliance, and risk teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and firm policies.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through professional communication and support.
  • Participate in onboarding and training initiatives related to fixed income products and trading systems.
  • All other duties as assigned
