About The Position

The Junior Financial Data Analyst supports financial and operational reporting for the organization role focuses on analyzing trip data, claims, provider payments, member utilization, and cost performance to support operational decision-making.The position combines financial analysis with hands-on data management, using tools such as Excel, Power Query, SQL, and Power BI to build reliable reports and dashboards. This is a career role designed for candidates who are eager to develop strong technical and financial skills in a healthcare services environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, healthcare operations, or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, Power Query, and advanced formulas.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL for data querying.
  • Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools preferred.
  • Interest in healthcare, NEMT, or managed care operations.
  • Experience working with large datasets is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, pivot tables, dynamic formulas)

Responsibilities

  • Extract and organize data from claims systems, trip management platforms, and financial systems.
  • Use Power Query and SQL to clean, transform, and combine large datasets.
  • Validate data accuracy and reconcile operational data with financial records.
  • Maintain standardized reporting templates and datasets.
  • Document data sources, definitions, and reporting processes.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI and Excel to track financial and operational KPIs.
  • Automate recurring reports such as trip summaries, mileage reports, and provider payment analysis.
  • Assist in improving data refresh processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Support self-service reporting for finance and operations teams.
  • Analyze trip volume, mileage, reimbursement rates, and provider payments.
  • Support monthly close, variance analysis, and financial reporting activities.
  • Track and analyze key NEMT performance metrics, including cost per trip, on-time performance, and member utilization.
  • Support profitability and contract performance analysis by payor and region.
  • Work closely with FP&A, Operations, Provider Relations, and IT teams.
  • Respond to data and reporting requests from internal stakeholders.
  • Assist senior analysts with ad-hoc analysis and special projects.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives related to data and reporting.
