About The Position

POSITION MISSION: Support enterprise data initiatives through learning, collaboration, and hands-on contribution while developing strong foundational skills in analytics, data management, and business understanding. The Junior Data Analyst will work alongside senior team members and business stakeholders across Rockingham’s business segments to assist in building and maintaining data solutions that support data-driven decision making. This role is focused on professional growth, applying best practices, and progressively developing into a reliable and trusted contributor to the data team. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Acquire, validate, and analyze data from primary and secondary sources to support reporting, analytics, and operational needs. Create, maintain, and analyze recurring and ad-hoc reports, queries, dashboards, and databases as directed. Identify trends, patterns, data quality issues, and process improvement opportunities and escalate findings as appropriate. Document analysis process, data definitions, and methodology to ensure consistency of work. Supports testing and validation activities related to data, reporting, and system changes by executing test cases and documenting results. Partner with business units to understand data needs. Participates in the data governance process by assisting with documentation, data definitions, and adherence to approved standards and best practices. Review data output for quality. OTHER DUTIES: Supports enterprise data initiatives as requested by senior staff. Other duties as assigned. Experience, coursework, or foundational experience involving data analysis, data presentation, or visualization using structured data sets. Internship or entry-level experience in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or related field a plus. Demonstrated interest in analytics, data, or technology, shown through academic projects, personal initiatives, internships, or relevant work experience desired. Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization or reporting tools preferred. Familiarity with relational databases and SQL concepts, with the ability to learn and apply querying techniques to support reporting and analysis.
