About The Position

Colwen Hotels has an opening for a Junior Area Revenue Strategist to join our talented Revenue Team. The Junior Area Revenue Strategist plays a key role in supporting the hotel's revenue strategy by assisting in pricing, inventory, and distribution management. This position works closely with the Revenue Managers and hotel operations teams to ensure optimal revenue performance across all market segments and distribution channels. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality and data-driven decision-making. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in hotel revenue management, reservations, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience with property management systems (PMS) and revenue management systems (RMS) preferred (e.g., Opera, IDeaS, Duetto, SynXis).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Familiarity with online distribution channels (OTAs, brand.com, GDS, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • A passion for hospitality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of hotel performance metrics (ADR, RevPAR, etc.
  • Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools
  • Understanding of digital distribution and channel management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Strategy & Optimization Support the development and execution of daily, weekly, and monthly revenue management strategies for assigned hotels.
  • Monitor and analyze demand trends, booking pace, pickup, and market performance.
  • Assist in setting and maintaining room rates, restrictions, and inventory controls to maximize RevPAR and overall profitability.
  • Coordinate implementation of promotional offers, packages, and pricing changes in all relevant systems and online channels.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting Prepare, update, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly revenue performance reports.
  • Track key performance indicators including ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, and channel mix.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for revenue growth and communicate insights to the Revenue Manager and hotel teams.
  • Systems Management Maintain data accuracy in revenue management and distribution systems (e.g., PMS, RMS, CRS, and OTA extranets).
  • Ensure timely updates of rates, availability, and restrictions across all booking channels.
  • Assist with system audits, configuration updates, and process improvements.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis Conduct regular competitive set analysis, including rate shopping, market segmentation, and pricing trends.
  • Monitor local events, seasonality, and economic factors impacting demand.
  • Provide input on forecast accuracy and recommend adjustments based on market conditions.
  • Collaboration & Communication Partner with Sales, Marketing, Reservations, and Operations teams to align on pricing, distribution, and group business decisions.
  • Support communication of revenue management strategies and results during commercial and business review meetings.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Revenue Management team for projects, audits, and system enhancements.
