About The Position

CSCI Consulting is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, with a heavy emphasis on transaction-based entry and federal government payment systems. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and is eager to apply analytical skills to complex reconciliation tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 + years relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of accounting, account reconciliation, and financial analysis
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • 1 + years of experience supporting federal or DoW project
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Momentum-based systems, particularity Unified Financial Management System (USFS) and Treasury Secure Payment System
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence

Responsibilities

  • Transaction Management: Perform high-volume transaction entry for AR and AP workflows, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with federal guidelines.
  • Federal Systems: Utilize the Intra-Governmental Payment and Collection (IPAC) system to process transfers and reconcile inter-agency transactions.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and perform basic variance analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Audit Support: Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support internal and external audits related to USMS operations.
