About The Position

As a Junior Accountant, you will provide essential backbone support to our internal corporate finance team while also performing critical reconciliation work for our Federal client. It is a foundational position where your precision ensures both our internal operations and our high-profile client contracts remain financially sound and compliant. What You Will Achieve Transactional Support: You will assist with the day-to-day processing of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), helping to ensure that vendor invoices and client billings are handled efficiently. Contract Reconciliation: You will provide direct support in reconciling financial data for specific federal contracts, helping the team identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain contract compliance. Payroll & Data Validation: You will help collect and validate payroll data and track fixed asset records, contributing to the overall integrity of our internal financial reporting. Team Coordination: You will work alongside senior accountants and offshore back-office teams to compile data, maintain organized, audit-ready documentation, and provide senior leadership with the insights needed to make high-stakes business decisions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required (no dual citizenship)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 0-2 years of experience in A/P, A/R, and General Ledger entries, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential financial information with high integrity (internships or entry-level accounting experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to perform bank or account reconciliations using analytical skills to investigate variances and resolve data discrepancies
  • Demonstrated ability to mange multiple task deadlines – such as payroll cycles and month-end close – while maintaining accurate and audit-ready records
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate smoothly with internal stakeholders, project managers, and offshore back-office teams
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel (specifically Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs) to organize and verify financial spreadsheets
  • Interest in process improvement and use of automation tools (e.g., Excel automation, Power BI)

Nice To Haves

  • Basic exposure to government contracting (GovCon) environments or project-based accounting.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and invoicing systems (e.g., Deltek, Unanet)
