About The Position

This classification level is responsible for serving as the primary administrative resource for managing and directing assigned administrative office operations, implementation of legislative policies, mandates and overseeing projects, services related to district, juvenile, and county courts under the Deputy Administrator for Court Services Division. Responsibilities may include performing budget management for trial court operations by analyzing and managing budgets for programs and services; coordinate with various counties on budgeting process, overseeing development and monitoring of processes, procedures for court case management, public service, records management, finances, and general operation of the courts; auditing operations and processes; identifying and assessing needs of judicial districts; determining allocation of resources based on type of assistance; supervising support and special project staff; serving as liaison to county, district, and separate juvenile judges associations, clerk magistrate association, clerks of the district court association, and other county government associations for developing and communicating current and new policies and procedure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field; 6 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff, which includes: prioritizing, assigning and scheduling work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are educated; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and maintain a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Assists the county, district, and juvenile court judges and managers in areas including interpreter services, jury management, courtroom security, facility improvements, records management and procedural manuals; responds to daily inquiries via phone calls or emails; and determines what appropriate resources are needed.
  • Monitors various federal and state mandates concerning court functions; develops and communicates new policies and procedures; and oversees the implementation of related policies and procedures.
  • Identifies needs for and develops special programs to address court needs.
  • Interprets, develops, reviews and updates agency policies and procedures; communicates and trains personnel on new or revised policies and procedures.
  • Serves as liaison for court user groups and stakeholders regarding assigned courts or subject matter.
  • Develops and maintains training materials for court personnel.
  • Performs budget management for trial court operations by analyzing, managing, and monitoring budgets for programs and services.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
