About The Position

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Responsible for the overall supervision of the JROTC program Responsible for planning to ensure all cadets participating in the program are outfitted with uniforms and associated clothing Serve as the liaison between the school and military entities such as U.S. Army Cadet Command and 5th Brigade Ensure space allocation for up to 10 percent of the school 's population Ensure books are ordered to conduct classes Promote a safe and positive classroom environment conducive to learning Maintains appropriate classroom discipline Maintains poise and self-control Establishes high expectations for learners Promotes active learner participation Shows evidence of appropriate and positive student- teacher interaction Monitors access and usage of the internet Align all instructional materials to Army Regulation 145-2 (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program/Organization, Administration, Operation and Support Use a variety of instructional techniques Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty successfully. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Must meet Arkansas certification (Technical Permit) requirements.
  • Evidence of successful experience in dealing with students, parents, administrators, and staff in decision making.
  • Evidence of knowledge of basic techniques necessary for helping students make adequate educational and career choices.
  • Evidence of ability to work with diverse student populations.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills
  • Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate must have a minimum 10 years of service in the US Army components. Candidate must be retired or currently serving in the US Army Reserves or Arkansas Army National Guard as a Noncommissioned officer. He/she must hold a minimum rank of SSG (E6).
