About The Position

Stepping Forward Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and humble Jr Systems Administrator passionate about learning IT and implementing IT best practices across multiple organizations. The role involves training in network and server risk identification, reducing reactive issues, and aligning client technology with company standards. The ideal candidate is naturally organized, meticulous, conscientious, and possesses a strong work ethic and initiative. Stepping Forward Technology is a family-run, locally owned Managed Service Provider (MSP) that takes a proactive approach to technology support and management. Their mission is to help small to medium-sized businesses in and around Colorado Springs thrive through effective IT planning and the use of cutting-edge technology, providing results-driven IT support.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience supporting IT in enterprise and cloud environments
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent ability to document, manage, prioritize, organize, and follow-through with work
  • Eagerness to grow and take opportunities to learn both inside and outside the work environment
  • A humble attitude, willing to learn from mistakes and others
  • A teachable spirit and desire to learn from others
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation
  • Strong initiative, able to be a self-starter but also a supportive team-player
  • High level of customer service, professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree – strongly preferred
  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MCP, MCSE, MCSA

Responsibilities

  • Perform remote and onsite Technology Alignment Reviews with best practice standards
  • Improve documentation of client’s IT environment
  • Complete monthly proactive checklist per client
  • Help build the Standards Library
  • Identify reactive issue trends and how to address them proactively
  • Identify technical risks in the environment
  • Work first shift, Monday through Friday – with an agreed upon schedule offering flexibility with HYBRID flexibility after 90 days of employment
  • Perform manual maintenance after hours when required
  • Work closely with the vCIO to strategize and lower technology risks
  • Develop relationships with clients’ primary contact
  • Participate in morning meetings with clients to discuss lists and discussion points
  • Complete proactive tasks including Standards & Alignment Review and Checklists
  • Send the “Technology Summary” report outlining key findings at the end of the day
