About The Position

Stepping Forward Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and humble Jr Systems Administrator who is passionate about learning IT and implementing IT best practices standards across multiple organizations. This professional position provides growth opportunities through cross-training by industry experts and exposure to various environments and systems. As the individual grows, they will be trained in network and server risk identification, how to reduce reactive issues on the network, and how to align client technology with company standards. The ideal applicant will be naturally organized, highly meticulous, and conscientious, possessing a strong work ethic and initiative. Stepping Forward Technology is a family-run, locally owned Managed Service Provider (MSP) that takes a proactive approach to technology support and management, with a mission to help small to medium-sized businesses in and around Colorado Springs thrive through effective IT planning and the use of cutting-edge technology.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience supporting IT in enterprise and cloud environments
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent ability to document, manage, prioritize, organize, and follow-through with your work
  • Eagerness to grow and take opportunities to learn both inside and outside the work environment
  • A humble attitude, willing to learn from mistakes and others
  • A teachable spirit and desire to learn from others
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement)
  • Strong initiative, able to be a self-starter but also a supportive team-player.
  • High level of customer service, professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Perform remote and onsite Technology Alignment Reviews with our best practice standards
  • Improve documentation of our client’s IT environment
  • Complete our monthly proactive checklist per client
  • Help build our Standards Library
  • Identify reactive issue trends and how to address them proactively
  • Identify technical risks in the environment
  • Work first shift, Monday through Friday – with an agreed upon schedule offering flexibility with HYBRID flexibility after 90 days of employment
  • Perform manual maintenance after hours when required
  • Work closely with the vCIO to strategize and lower technology risks
  • Develop relationships with our clients’ primary contact
