About The Position

WIN Waste Innovations is looking for an Environmental Technician (ET) to perform routine environmental support, assistance, and coordination. The ET performs routine inspection, maintenance, and environmental compliance duties, to include air, water and continuous emission monitoring in accordance with Local, County, State and Federal Regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with landfill gas extraction and/or leachate systems
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with electrical components and associated equipment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing maintenance activities of various equipment
  • Microsoft Excel and Word
  • VPN and remote access
  • SCADA, OIT, VNC using workstation computer
  • Initiative to work independently

  • Operate fire extinguishing equipment ranging from handheld extinguishers to 20 lb. portable units
  • Work in areas under adverse conditions that may require the donning and use of personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, the following with average fatigue:
  • Hardhat
  • Approved safety boots (Company provided annually)
  • Eye protection
  • Approved hearing protection
  • Gloves
  • Gas monitor 4 channel (CH4, CO, H2S, O2)
  • Class 2 High Visibility Clothing

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily routine inspections with site SOP
  • Understands site specific operating procedures, per various permits and regulations
  • Respond to site events such as shutdowns, or various other upset conditions
  • Testing, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical pumps/transducers and all other leachate collection system controls.
  • Demonstrates competent electrical knowledge
  • Proficient with hand, power, and pneumatic tooling
  • Experience with various analyzers to include gas chromatography, H2S sampling equipment, SO2 monitors etc.
  • Efficiently able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and operation manuals
  • Onboarding and managing contractors on site, ensuring all safety briefs, permits and procedures are in place
  • Troubleshoots gas collection control systems (GCCS)
  • HDPE pipe welding and fusing experience
  • Air compressor, blowers, VFD and electric motor maintenance, diagnostic and repairs
  • Utilize LOTO program
  • Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
