About The Position

Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time entry level engineer to join our Amesbury, MA office. This position will support environmental and civil engineering projects through preparing technical reports, performing engineering calculations, analyzing field data, and supporting the development of design documents, as well as supporting environmental sampling (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water), field investigations, and construction observation. Work may require travel, primarily within the northeast region, and occasionally elsewhere in the United States. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, show initiative and attention to detail, and possess a strong interest in environmental engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 0-2 or more years of related experience in environmental engineering or similar work
  • A willingness to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously, across disciplines internally and externally, adhere to deadlines, and work in a client service-oriented team environment.
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel for field projects (up to 40%, depending on location and project needs)

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • ArcGIS or CAD experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred; may be provided upon hire)

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for environmental and civil engineering projects through engineering analyses, field investigations, and construction oversight.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables including design drawings, technical specifications, cost estimation, and calculations
  • Assist with data evaluation and report writing (e.g., sampling plans, investigation reports, design reports)
  • Support multidisciplinary projects involving remediation and infrastructure
  • Perform environmental sampling (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, biota)
