About The Position

This position supports community based job-training for individuals with barriers to competitive employment. Position assists individuals in skill development, task completion and behavior management. Position develops employment plans, and maintains participant case note and other documentation in accordance with Agency standards.

  • Can pass an established background verification process.
  • Possess a valid State Driver’s License, a good driving record, and have held a driver’s license for a minimum of three years. Must be able to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Possess effective interpersonal, reasoning and negotiating skills.
  • Posses CPR and First Aid current or ability to obtain current CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
  • Have intermediate knowledge and skills using personal computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Explorer.
  • Can accurately input data, and write case notes with attention to detail
  • Ability to interact positively with ethnically, culturally, economically and disability diverse populations.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Must be able to reach, bend, stand, sit, stoop, push and pull.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain contact with participants and community employers (including community work-experience training sites) to ensure job match/training the meets needs of both the participant and employer.
  • Act as an advocate on behalf of individuals served by the Agency; may perform intermediary dispute resolution between participant and employer as work situation dictates; negotiate work schedules, job tasks and accommodations (if necessary) on behalf of individuals served.
  • Perform job coaching to learn job tasks on an individualized basis.
  • Maintain case notes, participant follow-up, documentation and filing of appropriate data in established formats as required.
  • Implement appropriate behavior supports, including written Functional Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plan as required.
  • Network and coordinate resource/support services with appropriate providers.
  • Follows policies and procedures as established by the Developmental Disabilities Administration, specifically those required by DDA Policy 6.13, and all other contractual requirements.
