About The Position

To evaluate clients and place them in jobs and other activities in which they can be successful. To help clients become successful in their work. To create a healthy and safe environment for clients while assisting in the planning and implementation of programs, providing physical assistance to clients, and working to help clients obtain an optimal level of independence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in the areas of occupational and social skills.
  • Prior experience carrying out behavior plans and other programs as written.
  • Dealing appropriately and effectively with clients and staff.
  • Relevant experience in a supervisory role.
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) and comprehension.
  • Must be able to pass background check requirements.
  • Pre-employment physical and drug testing required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid drivers license (No suspensions in past 5 yrs and no more than 6 points). Required to drive shuttle buses or vans.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and evaluate clients to determine their level of acuity (Acuity Assessment).
  • Assess the difficulty of tasks and assign clients to tasks at which they can be successful.
  • Monitor clients on an on-going basis to ensure that their task assignment is appropriate for their level of acuity.
  • Train clients to do various job tasks and activities.
  • Manage job deadlines in conjunction with the Vocational Services Director.
  • Motivate clients to participate in active treatment programs.
  • Assist clients to be as independent as possible.
  • Ensure that clients physical and personal needs are met timely and appropriately.
  • Instruct clients in the areas of maladaptive behavior reduction, self-help skills, communication skills, community living skills, domestic skills, prevocational skills, and ADL skills, as assigned.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and legible documentation of all programs, care given, and adverse behaviors.
  • Model appropriate behavior when interacting with other clients and staff.
  • Protect clients from physical, mental, and verbal abuse, and ensure the protection of all individual and human rights of the clients.
  • Report any incidents adversely affecting the health and safety of a client to the Administrator.
  • Ensure compliance at all times with the clients Individual Service Plans.
  • Provide transportation of clients and ensure that all motor vehicles are in good working condition before any use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
