About the job: JMP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented In-House Counsel Intern to assist our legal team with a wide range of legal tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The JMP Legal team is responsible for advising on a variety of legal matters, including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The legal team advises several cross-functional business areas including but not limited to the following: Sales, Marketing, Digital Operations, Business Operations, User Enablement, Product Management, and Human Resources. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal research and analysis, contract management, policy, and compliance. Our summer intern will have the opportunity to work on several key projects, including: Legal Research and Analysis: conducting research on various legal issues, including compliance with international laws, state and federal laws, intellectual property laws, and contract laws, preparing concise reports and summaries for internal review. Contract Review and Drafting: assist with the reviewing and drafting of contracts, including customer agreements, vendor and marketing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDA). Policy and Regulatory Compliance: Supporting the team in ensuring that the company’s operations adhere to appliable compliance regulations and industry standards. Draft appropriate internal and external related company policies. Business Support: participating in meetings and trainings with various departments (i.e., Operations, Sales, and Marketing) to provide legal advice and support on a range of issues.

Requirements

  • Current law student (preferably 2 nd or 3 rd year) at an accredited university or college; not graduating prior to Dec 2026
  • Strong interest in contracts, technology, privacy, and software
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
