SkillNet is seeking a Jira Consultant to support the migration of custom integrations and automation from their current Jira setup to Jira Cloud. The work is DevOps-heavy, involving assessing, redesigning where needed, migrating, testing, and cutting over integrations that depend on Jira (APIs, webhooks, apps, CI/CD, internal tools).

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of Jira Cloud vs. Server/Data Center differences, specifically what breaks or changes in Cloud (APIs, permissions, apps, webhooks, automation).
  • Proficiency with Jira REST API v2/v3, including authentication (API tokens, OAuth where applicable), pagination, rate limits, and migration of scripts/cron jobs that call Jira.
  • Experience with Webhooks & automation, including mapping Server automation (e.g. listeners, ScriptRunner, post-functions) to Jira Cloud automation, Forge/Connect app constraints, or external orchestration.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD & tooling, specifically updating pipelines, secrets, and config that reference Jira URLs, credentials, or issue keys (e.g. GitHub/GitLab/Jenkins/Azure DevOps + Jira).
  • Understanding of Identity & access concepts, including SSO/Atlassian Access, service accounts, scoped tokens, and least-privilege for integrations.
  • Experience with Migration planning, including runbooks, dry runs, rollback thinking, communication with app owners, and evidence-based testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on participation in at least one Jira Server/DC Cloud (or major Cloud consolidation) project.
  • Experience with ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, or similar, including knowing what cannot move 1:1 to Cloud and how to replace it.
  • Knowledge of Observability, specifically logging/monitoring for integration jobs after cutover.
