This is a Software Engineering role, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs. The scenarios team is responsible for developing, maintaining and running applications for several overnight calculations to downstream market risk systems and used by equity derivatives trading desks. The Equity Derivatives Systems are required to meet the demands stemming from regulatory changes and the expansion of electronic trading of derivatives set against a backdrop of rapidly evolving global economic conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and improve the existing platforms, which are built using a variety of technologies including core Java, Q/KDB+ and AWS, be proactive in designing and building systems to meet business demands. The candidate will also be able to handle competing demands including both tactical and strategic initiatives, manage their own work to aggressive deadlines (with help from their manager). The role includes level 3 support responsibilities. Requirements

Strong technical background, including Object Oriented Design and knowledge of core Java with the focus on performance and concurrency
Spring/Spring Boot
Experience with scripting languages such as python, ksh and/or bash on Linux
Experience with AWS/Azure
Problem solving ability
Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

Familiarity/experience with distributed systems
Familiarity with Q/KDB+
OpenTelemetry
Gradle
Familiarity with git and forking workflow
Familiarity with risk systems
Familiarity with equity derivatives or financial instruments in general
