About The Position

The Facilities Technician / Janitorial role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of the converting department and surrounding plant areas. This position plays a key role in supporting food safety standards, operational efficiency, wastewater compliance, and a safe working environment for all employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift, bend, stand and twist over a long periods of time.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and motivational skills.
  • Ability to maintain diplomacy, confidentiality and tact essential, as individual has access to high levels of cost, design and company sensitive materials.
  • Must be able to work with frequently changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly FSSC zone cleaning (floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall) to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Clean and maintain breakroom areas, including all surfaces, appliances in and outside, ceilings, and floors.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, and adjacent areas.
  • Support and monitor wastewater treatment processes to ensure proper operation and compliance.
  • Operate floor scrubbers to clean walkways and production areas.
  • Collect and remove trash throughout the facility.
  • Pick up litter from outdoor areas, including lawns and parking lots.
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including snow removal, weed trimming, and general upkeep.
  • Apply salt to walkways and entrances to prevent slip hazards.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies.
  • Assist with light maintenance tasks, including but not limited to changing light bulbs and painting.
  • Responsible for overall facility housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Supports and adheres to internal quality and safety programs.
  • Works independently without direct supervision.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Flexible to work varied hours (surrounding assigned shift) as business needs require.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.
  • Ability to maintain diplomacy, confidentiality and tact essential, as individual interacts with all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess strong organizational and motivational skills.
