About The Position

Telecommunications Administrator responsible for administration of Voice over IP telephone systems and call center configuration, voicemail and related telecommunications applications and video conferencing solutions. To include implementation, support, troubleshooting and documentation. Carry out telecom administration independently and under supervision of senior personnel. Expected to learn the interactions between hardware, operating systems software and network operations and administrative requirements to ensure an efficient, reliable, secure telecom infrastructure. Work is performed and technical decisions made based on clear processes and procedural guidelines. The scope of the environment is an 80+ site network supporting medical, dental, behavioral health, preventative health clinics, call centers, billing and administration.

Requirements

  • Sound knowledge in the telecommunications systems, phone configurations
  • Sound knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations.
  • Reasoning Ability Constant reading, writing, speaking and understanding English.
  • Frequent use of interpersonal skills, teamwork, customer service and use of discretion.
  • Frequent need to solve practical problems in a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Regular decision making, independent judgment, problem analysis.
  • 1 – 3 years demonstrated experience as a Telecommunications Administrator
  • Experience supporting VoIP solutions.
  • Experience supporting Call Centers
  • Demonstrated experience supporting POTS telephone systems and services.
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Specific experience with Cisco phone systems.
  • CUCM, UCCX, CUC, and supporting applications.
  • A valid Washington Driver’s License and current automobile insurance.
  • Reliable transportation to be able to drive to all Sea Mar locations.
  • TB testing annually.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, install and maintain telecom services and equipment.
  • Conduct telecoms service assessments including the monitoring, investigation and reporting of performance.
  • Isolate and resolve telecom system problems to facilitate the smooth and trouble-free call center operations and general voice communications throughout the organization.
  • Gather information on telecom issues/concerns and communicate timelines for resolution using ticketing system.
  • Evaluate the current telecom system and infrastructure of the company, proactively anticipate future needs, and make recommendations for updates and improvements.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technology on VoIP administration to maintain optimum network performance.
  • Closely coordinates with vendors/suppliers for all repair and maintenance issues and activities; identify and communicate required changes/customizations to the system; and ensure the conduct of maintenance and repairs on the system.
  • Monitor connections by checking on active/connected circuits; ensure trouble free operation of circuits supporting operations (in-bound and out-bound calls).
  • Generate/extract call accounting reports for management as requested.
  • Oversee the ordering, assignment and release/administration of phones.
  • Review monthly connectivity billing from vendors and provide corrections or sign-off for payment.
  • Off-hours support on rotating basis with other staff members.
  • Plan and execute site implementations, includes non production hours for minimal business disruption
  • Inspect sites to determine physical configuration, such as device locations and conduit pathways.
  • Implement or perform preventive maintenance, backup, or recovery procedures.
  • Install, or coordinate installation of, new or modified hardware, software, or programming modules of telecommunications systems.
  • Develop, maintain, or implement telecommunications disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Estimate costs for system or component implementation and operation.
  • Document procedures for hardware and software installation and use.
  • Test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, or compatibility with existing systems.
  • Document technical specifications and operating standards for telecommunications equipment.
  • Instruct in use of voice, video, and data communications systems.
  • Prepare system activity and performance reports.
