About The Position

The IT Technician will be responsible to install, configure, manage, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair computer networks, workstations, support server system(s), supporting hardware/software, user accounts, and computer/telephone rooms for guests and team members. He/she will provide training to users on proper usage of all systems as well as provide support and technical guidance.

Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Information Technology or related field.
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Helpdesk/Desktop support experience a plus.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
  • On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen.
  • Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.
  • Use the telephone and computer keyboard daily.
  • Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Certified Software Engineer preferred.
  • Understanding networks and hotel applications is an asset.
  • Helpdesk/Desktop support experience a plus.
  • (Second language is a plus).
  • experience in a large hotel environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high levels of service and support to guests and team members with technological needs.
  • Maintain core technology standards and best practices in respect to property systems.
  • Assist with the maintenance of backup and emergency procedures to ensure integrity of programs and data.
  • Assist in projects such as software and computer rollouts to hotel staff.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements.
  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  • Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify and recommend new ideas, technologies, or processes to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings.
  • Maintain inventory of all technology devices (e.g., cellular phones, laptops, routers, switches, encoders).
  • Refer major problems to management.
  • Provide after-hours support when required.
  • Perform any other duties as required by management.
