About The Position

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking an entry level IT Technician to join the Springfield, IL Information Technology team. This is not a remote position. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS, MIS, IT, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Strong customer‑service mindset with professional and courteous communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond promptly in a fast‑paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and common business applications
  • Self‑motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to the growth of CMT’s IT capabilities
  • Ability to travel to and work in other CMT office locations as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Availability to work occasional weekends or non‑traditional hours, as required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience or internship in IT support, help desk, or technical support preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with aptitude for identifying issues, evaluating options, and implementing solutions
  • Demonstrated responsiveness, professionalism, and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive technical support to end users across the firm
  • Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and basic network issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime
  • Troubleshoot domain logins, user access, and common operating system issues
  • Create, manage, and deactivate user accounts and equipment during onboarding and offboarding
  • Repair, replace, and coordinate warranty service for IT equipment as needed
  • Evaluate and test new technologies and tools for potential firm‑wide use
  • Create and maintain internal IT documentation, including SOPs, checklists, and equipment inventories
  • Escalate complex issues as appropriate and work collaboratively with the IT team
