About The Position

We are seeking a Tier 1 Support Technician. The contracted technician will focus on front-line, campus-based support, including but not limited to: Student & Staff Device Support Troubleshoot and resolve common issues with student and staff devices (laptops, desktops, tablets, carts, etc.). Perform basic hardware/software troubleshooting and issue triage. Process device swaps/loaners for damaged or non-functional devices following district procedures. Assist with imaging, enrolling, and configuring devices through our existing tools (e.g., MDM, device management platforms) using established checklists and standards. Classroom & Testing Support Support classroom technology (interactive displays/boards, projectors, document cameras, docking stations, printers, etc.). Ensure carts and labs are ready for key testing windows (e.g., WIDA, state assessments, benchmarks) by verifying software, connectivity, and device readiness. Provide Tier 1 support for instructional and assessment software issues (logins, access issues, basic troubleshooting), escalating to district staff or vendors as needed. Ticketing, Inventory, and Communication Monitor and respond to campus technology tickets in the district’s ticketing system within defined service expectations. Document work performed, including resolutions and follow-up steps, in the ticketing system. Assist with maintaining accurate inventory of devices and peripherals assigned to the Ridgeland campus (check-in/check-out, lost/stolen reporting, etc.). Communicate recurring issues or trends to the Technology Department and school administration (e.g., device models with repeated failures, recurring classroom issues). Escalation & Role Limits Escalate advanced or sensitive issues (network infrastructure, servers, security systems, cameras, access control, etc.) to the Network Engineer, Systems Engineer, or appropriate district staff. The contractor will not: Make changes to core network infrastructure, server configurations, or enterprise security systems. Approve or deploy new software platforms without direction from the Technology Department. Handle student discipline or non-technology duties.
