About The Position

Information Technology is responsible for all the agency computer needs to include the records management system, data storage and to manage day to day technology needs.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in information Technology.
  • Applicants must have an equivalent of a high school diploma or GED, be a U.S. Citizen, be 21., have no felony convictions, successfully pass a background check and controlled substance screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24x7 on-call support on a monthly rotation or when needed, for critical public safety information systems.
  • Maintain end user configurations using Active Directory, deploying custom software, assigning hardware, applying security restrictions and group polices per department and government policy.
  • Deploy and maintain security patches for Microsoft Windows server and workstation operating systems and applications.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications to support end users, both hands-on and remotely.
  • Assess internal network infrastructure needs including, wireless network security, physical security, mobile and desktop computers, servers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, intranet, VPNs, WANs.
  • Develop backup and disaster recovery policies to protect privacy, minimize downtime, and protect against data losses.
  • Track and maintain software licenses, vendor contracts, hardware warranties and third-party services.
  • Analyze existing and create new processes to improve end-user productivity across many environments.
  • Concise documentation of issues tracking, escalations, follow-ups and resolution of all incidents.
  • Interface with remotes users and customer sites for problems solving and giving direction to maintain standards for equipment and software on the county network.
  • Software support of the CAD, RMS and JMS software for the Police Department.
  • Create customer reports from the core software used by the Police Department and our customers.
  • Experience administrating Microsoft Windows server (Active Directory, Group Policy etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic IP networking, understanding of networking configuration and management.
  • Experience troubleshooting routine network issues and components. (Switches, VPNs, VLANs, WiFi, video conferencing etc.)
  • Evidence Custodian.
