We are looking for a passionate, versatile, and hands-on IT & Systems Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of “doing good by crafting products intentionally, collaboratively, and transparently.” The Team You’ll Work With … As the IT & Systems Specialist, you will be an integral part of our talented Operations and Technology team, collaborating to ensure seamless connectivity between our office, tile manufacturing floor, and our new high-end marble fabrication facility. You will bridge the gap between traditional IT support and industrial automation, playing a key role in integrating new CNC and Waterjet technologies into our network infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to help with technical architecture of a growing multi-site production operation. Reporting to the IT/Operations Manager, this position is located primarily in Richmond, CA, with travel to San Francisco, Berkeley, and Aromas (Onsite). Requirements

  • We are looking for someone who is resourceful, curious, and mechanically inclined, possessing a 'Swiss Army Knife' approach to technology.
  • You are excited to support high-end craftsmanship through modern automation and thrive in a dynamic, multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • The Generalist Mindset: You enjoy "knowing a little about a lot" and are equally comfortable at a CLI prompt or using a volt meter.
  • Independent Problem Solver: You work with flexibility and authority over daily priorities, identifying what needs fixing before it halts production.
  • Manufacturing Resilience: You are comfortable working in a fabrication environment (dust, noise, and machinery) and understand that "IT" includes the cables running to a Waterjet.
  • Mobile & Adaptable: You enjoy the variety of traveling between our Bay Area and Aromas locations to provide hands-on support.
  • Network/Hardware: Proficiency in LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and hardware diagnostics (Network testers, Volt meters).
  • Software: Windows OS, Mac OS, Microsoft 365 administration, Google Work Space, and basic ERP support.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial Awareness: Exposure to PLCs, CNC machine interfaces, or automated fabrication software (CAD/CAM environment) is highly preferred.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to translate technical jargon for both office staff and shop-floor fabricators.
  • Adaptability: A calm demeanor when troubleshooting time-sensitive equipment failures.
  • Project Management: Ability to self-organize tasks across multiple geographic locations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure High Uptime: Maintain and troubleshoot workstations and network hardware across our locations to keep production moving.
  • Integrate New Acquisitions: Lead the technical setup for our new marble countertop division, ensuring CNC machines and Waterjets are networked and operational.
  • Bridge the IT/OT Gap: Act as the primary responder for both office-based software issues and floor-based hardware failures.
  • Optimize Cross-Site Connectivity: Manage the secure transfer and storage of design data between our creative teams and the fabrication machines.
  • Hardware Reliability: Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve connectivity issues within industrial control panels and network racks.
