About The Position

Class Valuation, a leading tech-enabled and industry leading appraisal management company (AMC) since 2009, is seeking an IT Systems Optimization Specialist to join our IT Infrastructure team. Join a team dedicated to modernizing the industry by bringing together the best people, processes, and technology to strengthen appraiser independence. Help us build the future of our profession! PURPOSE OF JOB: This role is responsible for maximizing the value, stability, and effectiveness of our existing IT platforms by continuously assessing, optimizing, and streamlining how systems are configured and used. The ideal candidate is hands-on, operationally minded, and execution-focused-able to identify improvement opportunities, reduce recurring issues, strengthen monitoring and alerting, and drive small-to-mid initiatives to completion through strong coordination and follow-through.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a similar role focused on improving and maintaining IT systems.
  • Hands-on experience administering and improving IT platforms (monitoring/alerting, ticketing/ITSM, endpoint management, Microsoft 365/Azure preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows environments and core infrastructure concepts; foundational networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting principles (severity, thresholds, routing, dashboards) and reducing alert fatigue through tuning and standardization.
  • Working knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell preferred) and the ability to build and maintain practical automations and operational checks.
  • Demonstrated project coordination and delivery skills (scope, prioritization, dependencies, risks, stakeholder updates) with a track record of finishing work.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, including creating runbooks, SOPs, and clear technical summaries for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours based on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current IT systems and tools to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and underutilized capabilities; recommend and implement practical optimizations.
  • Maintain an optimization backlog and help prioritize work with leadership based on impact, effort, and business needs.
  • Own monitoring and alerting effectiveness by tuning thresholds, reducing noise, improving routing and escalation, and ensuring alerts include actionable context.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and health reporting for infrastructure, endpoints, and key services; provide leadership-ready summaries when needed.
  • Track recurring operational issues, coordinate resolution, and follow through on prevention (including vendor coordination when needed).
  • Improve IT workflows (incident, request fulfillment, change verification, reporting cadence) to increase efficiency, accountability, and service quality.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and operational checks using scripting (PowerShell preferred) and system integrations/APIs to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Support rollout of new features and capabilities within existing systems; ensure smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
  • Coordinate and run projects end-to-end: scope, tasks, timelines, dependencies, and regular status updates.
  • Partner with internal IT team to align standards, tooling usage, and operational practices.
  • Validate changes with testing and post-change checks; document outcomes and lessons learned.
  • Track and report basic operational metrics, trends and KPI’s; recommend targeted improvements.
  • Identify adoption/training opportunities and assess tool utilization to ensure teams are leveraging tools effectively; provide recommendations to right-size, consolidate, or better leverage existing capabilities.
  • Provide hands-on support as needed to maintain uptime, performance, and end-user productivity.
