About The Position

Production IT Systems Engineer II ensures assigned technical configurations and hardware are functioning properly to support data-driven production systems, including infrastructure, security components, and related processes. This position requires the ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technology issues, configure and maintain computers, and support a variety of industry-standard and proprietary tools and systems. Client-service focus to resolve reported production-down notices is important, including occasional after-hours situations. Good logic skills with ability to assess and efficiently diagnose root-cause. Collaborates effectively with other teams to ensure production uptime of systems and avoid negative impact to quality and cycle times. S/he prepares necessary documents for compliance purposes, and strives to improve processes by using best practices. This is an onsite position, and includes an on-call rotation (typically one week per month).

Requirements

  • Logical ability to analyze, deduce root cause, and troubleshoot technical challenges within complex data-driven configurations to resolve problems.
  • Capability to implement and maintain Microsoft-based operating systems and hardware components including processors, circuit boards, routers, memory, storage, databases, and networking.
  • Aptitude to independently provide Level-2 support for complex automated equipment, including physical and virtual servers used within manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task and effectively manage a variety of assignments, some with competing deadlines.
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related degree; or an Associate Degree with 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience supporting computer systems, manufacturing engineering, or similar role.
  • Technical competency with computer-based hardware certification, such as CompTIA, A+ or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience within a highly-security manufacturing industry, including working with secure encryption methods, payment cards (PCI-CP), and key management techniques.
  • Prior experience with industrial control machines, PLCs, or integrated circuit chip environments is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to manage technical components, modify system configurations, and test production-related equipment and tools in concert with operator input to ensure accurate outcomes.
  • Capable of understanding, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex production equipment and systems.
  • Prioritizes production support requests, at times conferring with other departments, vendors, and partners.
  • Gains subject-matter knowledge to evaluate operational requirements using on-the-job training as well as independent learning as needed,
  • Conducts production equipment backups, resolves security vulnerabilities, and supports monthly patching cycle.
  • Keeps machinery/equipment operational via maintenance or upgrades, and assists with vendors as needed.
  • Maintains focus and awareness of security requirements and adheres to compliance practices and methods.
  • Uses integrated circuit knowledge (EMV-related) to support site readiness and release of new product versions.
  • Complies with regulatory requirements and IT-related audit activities, including ISO9001, ISO27001, and PCI-CP.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Adheres to company policies, follows department procedures and standard practices, and respects guidelines governing privacy, physical security, and information security.
  • Consistently demonstrates timely assignment delivery in meeting deadlines, some with competing priorities.
  • Self-starter with ability to balance a sense of urgency against measured thinking and attention to detail.
  • Displays excellent work habits, including collaborative attitude, punctual attendance, and appropriate dress.
  • Work performed in a light industrial setting; exposure to shop floor noise, and occasionally may lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Willingness to occasionally work beyond regular office hours when needed.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move safely around the facilities.
  • Other duties as required.
