About The Position

Responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of a state-of-the-art structured cabling system for voice, data, intercom, security, and related systems while adhering to district and industry standards/guidelines such as ANSI/EIA/TIA 568B. Lead cross-functional, multi-organization project teams, collaborating at all levels of the school district to ensure project success and satisfied stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Applied Science or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in telephone, network, and fiber optic cabling and terminations
  • Experience in installation and maintenance of TV’s, projectors and intercom systems
  • Experience in door access, freezer control and IP surveillance systems
  • Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs.
  • Provide own transportation for service calls.

Nice To Haves

  • BICSI technician or similar certification preferred
  • Panduit certified installer preferred
  • Five (5) years managing large IT construction projects preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install Category 6/6a structured cable and distribution systems.
  • Diagnose and repair copper and optical fiber issues.
  • Install and maintain security, access control, sound, VOIP, CCTV, CATV, paging, clocks, and related systems.
  • Install communication closet hardware including backboards, racks, patch panels, wire management systems, fiber enclosure, and video equipment.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and monitoring cable performance.
  • Installation of TV’s, Interactive Panels, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Oversee installation of intercom systems throughout the district.
  • Troubleshoot and repair intercom systems throughout the district.
  • Must be able to understand a standard set of construction blueprints, drawings and determine quantities and dimensional properties of the materials shown on the construction drawings.
  • Manage construction projects for all low voltage installs to include surveillance, intercoms, data, telecommunications and fiber optics.
  • Coordinate projects for IT hardware installs to include switches, access points, servers and computers.
  • Serves as liaison between all district divisions while coordinating IT-related software and hardware implementations.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs.
  • Provide own transportation for service calls.
  • Standard mileage reimbursement for personal car usage will apply according to the Business Procedure Manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
