About The Position

Responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of a state-of-the-art structured cabling system for voice, data, intercom, security, and related systems while adhering to district and industry standards/guidelines such as ANSI/EIA/TIA 568B. Lead cross-functional, multi-organization project teams, collaborating at all levels of the school district to ensure project success and satisfied stakeholders.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Applied Science or equivalent job experience
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in telephone, network, and fiber optic cabling and terminations
Experience in installation and maintenance of TV’s, projectors and intercom systems
Experience in door access, freezer control and IP surveillance systems
Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs.
Provide own transportation for service calls.

Nice To Haves

BICSI technician or similar certification preferred
Panduit certified installer preferred
Five (5) years managing large IT construction projects preferred

Responsibilities

Install Category 6/6a structured cable and distribution systems.
Diagnose and repair copper and optical fiber issues.
Install and maintain security, access control, sound, VOIP, CCTV, CATV, paging, clocks, and related systems.
Install communication closet hardware including backboards, racks, patch panels, wire management systems, fiber enclosure, and video equipment.
Responsible for troubleshooting and monitoring cable performance.
Installation of TV’s, Interactive Panels, and wireless infrastructure.
Oversee installation of intercom systems throughout the district.
Troubleshoot and repair intercom systems throughout the district.
Must be able to understand a standard set of construction blueprints, drawings and determine quantities and dimensional properties of the materials shown on the construction drawings.
Manage construction projects for all low voltage installs to include surveillance, intercoms, data, telecommunications and fiber optics.
Coordinate projects for IT hardware installs to include switches, access points, servers and computers.
Serves as liaison between all district divisions while coordinating IT-related software and hardware implementations.
Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs.
Provide own transportation for service calls.
Standard mileage reimbursement for personal car usage will apply according to the Business Procedure Manual.
Perform other duties as assigned.
