About The Position

We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our IT team. IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer We are seeking an IT Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to maintain the systems and infrastructure that power our organization. This role is responsible for the reliability, performance, and resilience of our network, servers, and cloud systems, and serves as a key technical escalation point for the IT helpdesk team. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise in networking, systems administration, and Active Directory and takes pride in building a resilient, well-documented infrastructure. This position is in our Eden Prairie, MN, office with the potential to work in a hybrid arrangement for the right candidate. This role may require occasional (infrequent) travel to our Dubuque, IA office.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or systems administration (Dell infrastructure and HP Aruba switching experience preferred)
Strong hands-on expertise in network design, routing, switching, and firewall administration (FortiGate, Forti-EMS, and Forti-Analyzer experience preferred)
Proficiency with Active Directory / Entra AD and Microsoft Azure or other hybrid cloud platforms
Experience with virtualization technologies (Nutanix, VMware, or equivalent)
Solid understanding of security best practices required, experience with CIS Controls preferred
Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery tools, particularly Veeam and Hycu
Experience with software deployment automation platforms (OpenText Zenworks, SCCM, Intune, PDQ or similar)
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a systematic approach to problem-solving
Thorough documentation practices and attention to detail
Ability and desire to tackle new systems or platforms

Nice To Haves

Experience with ITSM tools such as Halo, InvGate or Team Dynamix) preferred, but not required
Experience with various cloud technologies such as Azure and/or AWS, Panzura preferred, but not required.
Linux administration experience a bonus
CompTIA Network+/Security+, or Microsoft certifications preferred, but not required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Administer Active Directory / Entra AD, including Organization Unit, Security Group design, and Group policy
Manage hybrid cloud infrastructure and storage
Configure and maintain network switches, VLANs, etc.
Configure and maintain firewalls, VPN, and email filter
Perform Server maintenance and updates
Monitor systems and network performance, respond to incidents, and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
Oversee virtualization infrastructure and ensure ongoing server health and maintenance
Manage our ITSM & RMM platforms
Manage our endpoint configuration management platform and workstation imaging platform (actual software deployments and images created and maintained in conjunction with or by others)
Administer backup and disaster recovery processes, ensuring verified and tested recovery capabilities
Maintain documentation including network topology diagrams, firewall rule sets, & IT processes
Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation resource and collaborate with the IT Helpdesk team on complex issues
Assist with Sharepoint permissions as necessary
Lead or Assist with the implementation of new IT systems and platforms
Mentor a seasonal intern
