SUMMARY OF DUTIES In this position, you will be the advanced level technical support, at the Disability Determination Service for the case processing system, PostGreSQL and VoIP. This position is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the SQL databases, debugging any issues, resolve complex issues involving security breaches, along with creating procedures, security reports, annual processes involving security plans, and new business continuity plans. The role of this position will be to review the capabilities, identify areas within the DDS wherein these capabilities could/should be used to increase services and productivity, make proposals for implementation based upon the improvement of the business process, then implement those new capabilities. They are the technical expert on all aspects of the case processing system(s) including its interfaces with the federal claims system and its interfaces with the state fiscal processing systems. The position will independently detect, analyze, and resolve, any problems that may threaten the integrity of federal case data while it is being used by the Oregon DDS. Major duties include: Responsible for creating procedures, developing, and identifying needed security procedures, tools in anticipation of security issues/problems Identify and define realistic timelines for resolutions to complex issues and then communicate those timelines to management and end-users by creating procedures, guidelines and tools to proactively plan for future resolutions. Performs the major functions related to system security processes and procedures required by the Social Security Administration. This includes, but is not limited to, the Facility Security Plan and the Business Continuity Plan that are developed and maintained annually. There are other processes and documents that are related to these documents, such as the Separation of Duties document, that this position will also be responsible for. Oversee and manage VOIP including overall system administration – software upgrades, software configurations, software updates, and coordination of support from federal resources and vendor interface when required at the DDS level. Develops queries and reports to assist in data modeling and to respond to the ongoing and ad hoc need for information as required by the Management Team. These reports may be developed using a variety of tools such as including MS Access, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Strategy®, SQL, JIRA, Power BI and other reporting tools as needed. WORKING CONDITIONS: General office environment with typical schedule of Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (flexibility for alternate work schedule). May occasionally be required to adjust work hours to a flex schedule based on business needs. This position is not eligible for overtime. This position is eligible for hybrid work if requested. You must live within an hour driving distance of the office in order to respond to emergency situations and meet the needs of the agency.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of information systems experience in Advanced information systems administration, scripting in multiple disciplines, SQL database management, Voice over IP communications, LAN and WAN network administration including routers and firewalls; OR
  • An associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in Advanced information systems administration, scripting in multiple disciplines, SQL database management, Voice over IP communications, LAN and WAN network administration including routers and firewalls; OR
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: Advanced information systems administration, scripting in multiple disciplines, SQL database management, Voice over IP communications, LAN and WAN network administration including routers and firewalls; OR
  • Master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.
  • Must be HSPD-12 credentialed and if not then you will need to undergo the HSPD-12 background check process and pass, after the conditional offer is received.
  • Minimum four (4) years of IT Customer relations experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years Database management SQL, ACCESS, PostgreSQL.
  • System integration and Development experience Microsoft full suite including Power Aps, Power BI, Visio experience.
