About The Position

Reporting to the Director, IT, The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting our Microsoft 365 environment and providing desktop support to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and security of our systems, enabling our team to focus on groundbreaking research and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT principles and best practices, while also possessing the flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Schedule: Monday to Friday, first shift hours (hours may vary based on department needs, some late night or weekend work may be required)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or Associate's Degree in related field + equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator (Associate Administrator level) or 5+ years of experience (Administrator level), preferably in a life sciences or healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and desktop support.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience with network management and security protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to Microsoft 365 services.
  • Implement and manage data backup and recovery solutions.
  • Provide technical support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of workstations and peripheral devices.
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols to protect company data and systems.
  • Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with other IT team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on IT systems and best practices.
  • Document IT procedures and create user guides as needed.
