About The Position

In this role, you will lead and manage the technical support staff across Regions 5 and 6, supporting all Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) divisions. As a key technical advisor, you'll provide strategic planning, consultation, and direction for critical technology initiatives in alignment with DCYF's mission and standards. You'll collaborate with regional management teams and other System Administrator Supervisors to ensure consistent, effective technology solutions statewide, while providing guidance and oversight to IT Leads, System Administrators, and Customer Support staff.

Requirements

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling nine (9) years AND one (1) year of supervisory experience leading IT teams or managing large-scale IT operations while overseeing workflows, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance.
  • An associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program AND seven (7) years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or database.
  • A bachelor's degree including 9 semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses AND five (5) years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years continuous experience as a Technical Lead of Information Technology Staff.
  • Four (4) years continuous experience maintaining file and print services and NTFS and Share securities within a Windows 2016 and later Server environment.
  • Four (4) years of continuous progressive experience supporting network resources contained within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Local Area Network support across all levels of user, and multiple divisions within DCYF.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of off-site disaster recovery business resumption requirements for region and field offices.
  • Serve as Senior technical IT within the region for the integration of new technologies and mission-critical service initiatives.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with support managers, senior technicians, and other System Support Leads Statewide to ensure technical plans, decisions and implementations are consistent across DCYF.
  • Coordinate with DCYF and DCYF staff, other State agencies (e.g. ET and WaTech), IT vendors.
  • Senior-level technical consultants within their area, resolving technical problems.
  • Provides the highest level of technical expertise in support of customer issues and concerns within Region 5;6 and Statewide for afterhours/on-call support.
  • Ensures the proper reporting and resolution of all potential security issues to DCYF Security office.
  • Evaluates employee performance and prepares performance appraisals and professional development plans.
