About The Position

Custom Computer Specialists is looking to hire an IT Support Technician to be an integral part of our Onsite Services Team whose function is to provide full-time, on-site, end-user support for an Aurora, Ohio-based client. Custom is looking for an individual who will contribute to Custom’s overall success by providing exceptional client support with high levels of satisfaction in a technically diverse environment. This role supports both office-based employees and manufacturing-floor personnel, ensuring reliable access to systems, applications, and technology services. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or service desk roles
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Windows operating systems
  • Basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN)
  • Ability to support manufacturing-floor technology and work onsite as needed
  • Experience with ERP systems, ticketing platforms, or endpoint management tools
  • Exposure to Active Directory or Azure Active Directory
  • Knowledge of IT asset management and device lifecycle practices
  • Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications are a plus, including:
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and corporate applications
  • Troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, user identity and access, device performance, and software errors
  • Support both office employees and manufacturing-floor users, including onsite assistance as needed
  • Set up and configure Windows devices, printers, user accounts, MFA/security tools, and standard business applications
  • Assist new hires with workstation setup and onboarding support
  • Perform hardware imaging and device provisioning
  • Provide support and assistance for ERP systems, including troubleshooting and minor enhancements
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Participate in system rollouts, upgrades, and implementation projects
  • Log, track, and resolve support tickets in accordance with defined SLAs
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, device lifecycle records, and asset inventory
  • Identify recurring issues and escalate trends to the IT team to drive long-term solutions
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN)
  • Support routine IT maintenance and operational initiatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of IT support processes and standards
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
