About The Position

ITASCA, a renowned international engineering company, is seeking a Part-Time IT Support Specialist to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will provide hands-on end user support, assist with onboarding and offboarding, maintain workstations and systems, and help ensure our technology environment runs smoothly and securely. We are looking for a proactive, service-oriented IT professional with strong desktop support experience and a collaborative mindset.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of IT-related experience, specifically in desktop or end‑user support roles.
  • Personal computer workstation support, specifically Windows environments
  • Active Directory and/or Azure user administration
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in computer science, Networking, Cloud Technologies, or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, including familiarity with PowerShell.
  • Proficiency in computer management, troubleshooting, and desktop support
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service mindset and professionalism
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, both manual and powered
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., as needed

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without present or future sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, L-1, TN). Candidates on or for CPT/OPT are ineligible.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for calls, walk‑up incidents, and service requests.
  • Provide technical support to end users via phone, Microsoft Teams, and email.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Set up workstations, laptops, and other IT equipment.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems and platforms.
  • Install, update, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications and services, including SharePoint.
  • Perform routine maintenance on hardware, including updates and patches.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to address infrastructure and operational needs.
  • Manage the inventory of IT assets.
  • Assist with HPC system builds, deployment, and support.
  • Provide server system support for both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Assist with network hardware installations, upgrades, and configuration tasks.
