Position Summary Sony Honda Mobility of America (SHMA) is seeking a highly mobile, customer-focused IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support across our AFEELA retail studio locations in California and Arizona. This is a field-based role for someone who thrives on being on the move, supporting live environments, opening new locations, and ensuring technology works flawlessly where customers experience the brand. This role will serve as the primary IT support resource for studio operations, traveling frequently by car and airplane to support daily operations, new site openings, special events, and technology upgrades. You will work closely with Customer Engagement, Marketing, and Corporate IT teams in both the United States and Japan to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable retail technology environments. The ideal candidate is highly proactive, comfortable working independently, enjoys travel, and takes pride in being the person who keeps critical front-line systems running smoothly in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an IT Support Specialist in both Apple and Windows environments
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting iPads and iOS across multiple device generations
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to work directly with non-technical users
  • Experience training end users on hardware and software systems
  • Proficiency supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications and backend infrastructure
  • Experience with Entra ID, Office 365 device management, and custom device policies
  • Knowledge of Apple Business Manager and mobile device management practices
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and AV systems
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including frequent air travel, across California and Arizona
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites as business needs require

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or ACSP
  • Vendor certifications from Apple, Cisco, or Microsoft
  • Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Japanese language skills
  • Experience supporting SASE or VPN client solutions such as Cato
  • Apple Certified Support Professional certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote IT support for AFEELA studio locations across California and Arizona
  • Travel frequently between studio locations, including air travel, with readiness to deploy on short notice when operational needs arise
  • Support technology operations for live studio environments, roadshows, and special events as needed
  • Train studio staff on proper use of iPads, audio visual systems, and in-store technology platforms
  • Troubleshoot and configure iOS devices, including iPad hardware and operating systems
  • Install, configure, and support custom applications used in studio operations
  • Manage WiFi, networking connectivity, and audio visual systems at studio locations
  • Perform software updates and hardware upgrades for studio devices and systems
  • Conduct compliance checks on devices to ensure adherence to security and IT policies
  • Document IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating processes for studio support
  • Coordinate with Corporate IT teams in the United States and Japan on security initiatives, device policies, and system changes
  • Support opening of new studio locations from an IT readiness and deployment perspective
  • Transition studio IT responsibilities from third-party vendors to in-house ownership
  • Provide occasional end-user IT support at SHMA corporate locations, including Culver City, as workload requires
  • Support evenings and weekends when necessary to meet studio operational needs
